Live Deliberately Essay Contest The Walden Woods Project is pleased to announce the winners of the 2019-2020 Live Deliberately Essay Contest! We received almost 1,000 submissions from 49 states and twelve different countries. Our sincere thanks to the students, sponsors, and volunteers who participated in our contest this year.

The Walden Woods Project (WWP) is a nonprofit organization located in Lincoln, Massachusetts, devoted to the legacy of Henry David Thoreau and the preservation of Walden Woods, the forest around Walden Pond that spans Lincoln and Concord, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1990 by rock artist Don Henley to prevent two development projects in Walden Woods.
